The award winning Island House on South Stradbroke Island (Minjerribah) seamlessly blends with the natural landscape, connecting residents to the rainforest and wildlife. Pavilion-like forms define public and private spaces, using charred timber for the private wing and New Guinea rosewood with clerestory glazing for the public areas.

The architecture enhances the sense of place through site positioning, climate responsiveness, and the use of raw materials.
